Closing Ceremony for the Environmental Impact Assessment Training

We are now ready for aparting time. At the closing ceremony I took several impressive photos of participants and other important persons on this events.  Just the memorable story took place in Thailand with the supporting of JICA and TICA.  A handsome Japanese Representative became popular as the greatest movie start.  Enjoy seeing the photos and have a good trip back home.  Don't miss the flight due to missing someone who love. 

Trip to Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate

It's such a beneficial trip for me to visit the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Rayong province. The trip is part of the EIA training donored by the TIGA and JIGA incorporate with the Scince and Natural Resource Ministry.  We stayed in Baron Beach Hotel locating in the middle of Pataya City.  Our first visiting was at the City of Pattaya to hear the brief presenting on City Planning and Waste Disposal Management Plan of the city.  We got the overal perspective of the city and just kwen how the city was.  Next day we start off to survey the Motorway Project where the project had several impacts to differnt groups and stakeholders.  The case of Motorway is interesting in term of various affected group to consider, the different mitigation measures the different government agencies taken responed on that matters.  Some of us took the rest of the day continuing to observe people way of living during the night time till dawn. 

I myself have just realised that the Pattaya Beach is beautiful when sat down and relaxed on the beach before the sun went down to the see.  Someone said " Pataya never sleep" I didn't surprise since the sound of music came into my bedroom throughout the night.  Look at people's faces in the morning was looklike sleepless faces, perfect drunk guys. 

At Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, we visited the petrochemical factories where I have found a lot of evidence on Human Resource Management, Knowledge Management.  Additionally, the safty and Emergency unit was the very effective one. Advanced ICT brought into the operation as a key tool for controling and monitoring, for instance, the GIS.  It's good to bring in their expereinces to apply to my office.  So, I took several photo including prohibit area. 

Petroleum Company Staffs presented a lot of technical things about the company operational implementation and I felt it was not relevant to my knowledge.  I then walked out of the lecture romm pretending that I was going to the toilet but sitting down on the losy sofa for relaxing.  Chatting with some friends, drinking a good coffee (free service) in the common room near the lecture room and pretending again that I was the company staff so that I could lie down longer. 

The Bus drove back to Bangkog and arrived at about 6.00 pm.  Most of us looked tried nevertheless they were going to have a big party that day.  Oh my god!  We're energetic hygines human kind and last long life.  The groups' energy always charged on real time, but I didn't bring the charger with me.  So, I better get back home.

Another Day on the First Week of EIA Training

Most of us from different contries are now closed friends.  We learned to gether in the same room, we ate the same food in the same cantee, we sat down in the same hall and chated on general topics.  It's was great we are in mutual interests whatever interests were. 

Professor Wanchai from King Pachathipok Institute was a great lecture who could stimulate the awaken class.  I like the way he was trying to throw the questions to us while push us to give a quick answer before his criticised would attack us positively. 

However, I still have my favorite CAPUCHINO at STAR BUCK at the ground floor of Future Park Centre.

Last night we all joined the Dinner Party at the Canteen.  Surprisingly, the 100 Peper and its compenents are provided in order to make our dinner the most delicious. Moreover, the 100 Peper also encouraged some of us to start singing with beautiful song through late night.   Thank everyone for the cooperative activities, this must be a positive starting line for further cooperative projects in the future. 

We laugh, we clare, we sincere, and we cooperate!

Environmental Impact Assessment Training at IET, Thailand

The Training program on Environmental Impact Assessment is sponsored by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The purposes of the training are to increase participants' knowledge, experience and ability to assess environmenatl impacts, particularly in transport project, to increase theoretical parctical knowledge about EIA-procedures, including processes, methods and tools, to establish contacts and networking among participants.

The training longs from 30 August-10 September 2010 with 19 participants from Thailand, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam

Welcome speech for The Music Forum 2010 at Kamphaengphet Rajchabat University

I was asked by the city mayor to give a welcome speech for the International Traditional Music and Art Performace at Kamphaengphet Rajabat University on 4 August 2010

On the event, there were 6 nations including Thailand participated to perform their traditional music and dances for the local people in the city of Kamphaengphet, in the evening of the day.  The perforamce supposed to be at the Open Cultural Court in the central of the town. But due to incoming strom hitting Thailand, the university changed their plan to move from the open field to the Central Hall at the university.

Welcome speech  started by me, on behalf of the city mayor to welcome all participants from oversea, later that the Prestident of the KPP university read her official report to the Vice-Governor of KPP.  After the opening ceremony had finished, it was the Chakangroaw Traditional Dance has been performed.  Then Mayasia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Korea's groups of musicians were performed their fantastic music and dances.  I sat in front next to the President of the KPP university and Vice-Governor to look at the shows with beating heart.

Additionally, the international music forum arranged by Srinakharin Wirot University at Prasanmitr Campus where has been a strong linkage with KPP university.  Regard to closest tie amongst these institutes, therefore the cultural music and art performance were invited to perform in Kamphaengphet.

It's my great pressure to be invited by the executive lecturer of the university to attend the international shows I have ever looked. Music and local dance from Malaysia was I like the most. It's seem to me that their music was a kind of locality or folkness rather than a very traditional one.  For the Taiwanese, the musicians were from the National University of Arts and Music in Taipei, their music was about serious since I didn't see any smile on their faces.  My wondering about Taiwanese's music performance has been explained by the KPP universtiy's President that these musician were the students at the Taipei National Unveristy of Arts and Music where they have seriously learn music as professional.  Oh, I understand how different between professional music and folk music. It's the local folk music is rather lively and enjoyable thant the professional music. 

I kept watching the show untill the end of the event, driving back to my place with the falshback of the wonderfull event following me to bed.

Third Day of Financial Local Government Workshop in Batum, Indonesia

Third Day, the conference workshop started at 9.00 am at Novotel Hotel in Batum which located the opposite site of my previous hotel, the Pacific Hotel. 

Chaos with moving big bags and belonging stuffs from hotel to hotel while it's a heavy rain through the day.  Under the hotel's roof we didn't realised how heavy the rain falling on earth until the evening television news announced that there were several places in Singapore facing with flood. 

The morning session was about experts from every countries informed financial issues in local government including policy recommendations.  Discussion exercised at the end of the sessions.  Bob from Sydney was the moderator on this session.  He had worked on the Australian and New Zealand financial Local Government paper in Gold I and II.  Additionally, he was going to bring about mutual proposal of financial recommendation from the workshop to propose the UCLG in order to be published for the next meeting in Mexico, and then will propose to the world political organization which can give influcentially advice back to each country's members.  

After lunch, we went back into the workshop room.  This session the participants were separated into four groups to discuss the assigned particular issues related to the morning session.  My group composed with Phillipines, Malasia, and Indonesia.  After a long discussion amongst us we had made the conclusion for the issue of local autonomy, local personnel training, the tax rate improvement, and financial institution to facilitate for local credit.
I was voted to present our group's conclusion.  And I did it quite smoot on that.

Second Day Conference on Strategies & Investment

On the second day, we woke up and had our breakfast with "Mi Ayam", coffee & bread.
In the morning sesssion, I was assigned to speak on the Thai tourism for the participants which composed with delegates from local governments in Asia Pacific.

Throughout the day, we attended the conference, talking and making new friends from other countries.  Later on 6.30 pm, we were invited to have dinner at one of the famous resturant.  Seafood was served with juice.  Music started to play with a local singer.  For this event, the highlight is not food we ate but the indonesian singers who succcess to entertain us.  Then the calling yell from the tables behind us that "Thailand, Thailand, Thailand,..."  And I realised that it must be me to get up and take the microphone to sing a song.  Fine!  I intend to sing Yellow Submarine but the musicial could not play that song. So I think once again for the new different song.  Finally, I took my risk to sing "Let it be".  Tonight, it was a greatday to enjoy after completing one of my job.  Such a good day.
